Climate Change: The monster is here.

Climate Change: The monster is here.

Climate Change: The monster is here.

We are bombarded daily with new information on the ever-increasing pace of global
climate change. Warnings from Climatologists and almost every branch of the science
community are screaming at the top of their lungs. Warnings that are increasingly falling on deaf
ears. Why?

The constant stream of negative information has caused the world to suffer a massive case of
“Climate fatigue.” And wouldn’t it? How often can you hear “ the sky is falling” and then look up,
and it’s still there before you stop listening or, worse, stop caring?

Climate change is a slow-drip scenario. Think of ice melting as a metaphor, so it is easy
to dismiss and ignore it. Continued news of the symptoms of this change does not galvanize the
public to action; it is just more bad news daily. Something to hear but then shrug off as you climb
into your Ford F150 that you do not need to own and cruise down the congested roadways of
America to focus on your primary concern. Making a living. However, what kind of living we are
experiencing is hugely disproportionate in today’s insane version of Capitalism gone crazy. A
society based entirely on consumerism is a disaster that is unfolding daily. And yet, we ignore
that as well. Being fed a constant stream of advertising makes us lust after shit; we don’t need
only to build the massive global corporations that survive on greed, power, and avarice. We are
willing to ignore the fire burning down our homes because we don’t see the flames.

Corporate America wants to continue focusing on the symptoms of climate change
instead of its root causes. To that end, they spend billions on advertising, disinformation
campaigns, etc., to make sure we constantly see ourselves as the problem, making us feel
responsible for somehow cleaning up the disaster they continue to create. This is an endless
loop leading only to the complete destruction of this very earth as we know it. This isn’t
tomorrow or next year. This is today. Until the world’s top polluters, specifically the “Fossil fuel”
industries, are held accountable and their bottom lines are affected, they will not stop. The term
“fossil fuel” is complete bullshit, by the way. Do you believe that Decayed vegetation from 200
million years ago somehow sunk 2000 feet below the planet’s surface and turned into oil or
natural gas? That is a complete myth designed to drum up fear of false scarcity, justify rising
costs for the consumer, and support the “desperate need” to dig more wells and produce more
pollutants into our atmosphere. To what, feed the corporate greed run rampant in our societies?
Hard science is conveniently buried, indicating that the planet produces oil and gas constantly.

But who will hold these massive corporations to account? Where is the political will when
so many pockets are lined by their profits? Any legislation to reverse course- and reversing
course is the ONLY SOLUTION!!!- has been stalled and Delayed for YEARS!! And will continue
to be.

A complete overhaul of our judicial system, stopping the oil and gas industry from buying
their way out through delay, obfuscation, and flat-ass lies. Motion after motion only keeps the
wheel of greed turning to benefit the 1/10th of one percent that controls the world’s future.

Somehow, humanity on a global scale, ignoring nationalism, isolationism, borders, etc.,
must find a way to band together and prove that the many, outweighing the few, truly have the
power to save our planet.

How is this accomplished? I will need help with that.
